NWA Naturals Game

This weekend Charles' company had their annual picnic at the Arvest Ballpark. Fortunately a "cold" front came throught and it was only in the high 80's instead of the 90's, but it was still VERY hot out there! There was nice breeze though so that helped!

The heat didn't slow Emily down. She did everything they had to do - the bouncy house, duck pond, face painting, playground, cotton candy...it was a lot for a little girl to take in. On the way home she asked me "Mommy why am I so tired?" Hummm..........Enjoy the pics! And yes, her hair is in pigtails! Not just half of her hair....all of it....it's taken almost 3 years for her to grow enough hair for pigtails!!!!

She wouldn't get in it at first, but once she did she loved it!

Posing with her bat and glasses that she "won" at the duck pond!

Watching them warm up on the bullpen! The National Anthem...so serious!

Yummy...."chocolate" candy....I don't know why she calls it that, she knows what chocolate is!

Sitting so still!
Showing off her face painting!

Lots Of Updates

It has been quite a while since I have posted, I just don't know where my time has gone :) Well, I made up for it today! Mimi took Emily to visit Grandma and Pa and so it was just Ashley and I! Since she doesn't go anywhere when I put her down and doesn't talk 24/7....yet...I got a lot done today! Check out all the new posts, starting with the one titled "Up"!

Emily Cuteness!!!

Emily has gotten to be such a big girl lately! I don't know if it's because Ashley is here now, but it just seems like Emily has grown up all of a sudden! Right now she is a talker!!! I couldn't wait for the day for her to start talking....now I don't get a moment of quiet until she's alseep! Here are a few of her "musings" I've heard lately:

~ As we were driving the other day:
Emily: "Ugh, Ugh....."
Me: "Emily what are you doing?"
Emily: "I'm trying to get my toe off."
Me: "Off of what?"
Emily: "Off of my foot!"

~ At night when we are laying down and I forget to say our prayers she will say "Mommy, let's talk to God!"

~ When we pull up to cars that are already stopped or if cars start moving before we do she'll ask me why are we going backwards!
~ As I'm driving she is constantly asking me "What's that, what's that, what's that." She doesn't understand that I can't see what she's pointing to A: because i'm driving and B: because she now sits directly behind me instead of behind the passenger seat!

~ The other night she was telling Daddy about how her and Lily had gotten into the alcohol (or as she says O-kahol) in Ashley's room. She thought it was a pretty funny story until Daddy started getting on to her, then she proceeded to tell him: "Mommy's already done that Daddy." I guess she didn't want to get in trouble again :)

~ We have been blessed by so many friends who have brought dinner to us these last 4 weeks. Last night was the first night I cooked a meal in I don't know how long. As we were sitting down to eat Emily said: "Who brought it tonight?"

~ The other day we went for our first playday at a friend's house. As I was getting Ashley changed and dressed Emily asked me: "Is she going too?" Then she proceeded to ask me "Is Ashley going to get out at Tarah's or just wait for us in the car?"

She is just precious and I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world either! If she could just give me a few minutes of quiet during the day or while i'm driving!

Ashley Cuteness

It is hard to believe that in 3 years she will be Emily-Size :) The time goes by so fast and we are enjoying every....well, almost maybe.....minute of it! I wouldn't trade her for the world!!!

Me & My Sister

I just can't believe that I have 2 girls now! Emily has been such a GREAT Big Sister! She loves to watch me change Ashley's diapers, dress her, bathe her, anything that has to do with her pretty much! She just carries her step stool around so that she can see what's going on :)

She also LOVES to pick out her clothes! The other day Emily was wearing a shirt that had a cupcake on it, so she picked out a onesie that had cupcakes on it for Ashley...too cute :) She loves to kiss her and hold her hands! She'll say "Oh Mommy, she's so cute :)"!!!

Ashley's Dr. Visits

Ashley has had very wonderful doctor visits so far! She is now a formula-fed baby (thanks to the aspirin I am taking daily for my blood clot!) and so I think that is why :) It seemed to take Emily forever to gain weight and each visit was kind of stressful, but so far, so good with Ashley. Here is a recap of our visits so far:

Look how little she looks on the big dr. table!!!

June 2nd
* 1st official appointment
* 8 lbs, 8 ozs (up from 8 lbs, 2 ozs at the hospital)
* Major question was the fact that when she spits up, it comes out her nose!!! Apparently completely normal, but it still weirds me out a little )

June 9th
* 8 lbs, 7 ozs (not too concerned, she was weighed on a different scale than the last time)
* Major question was her sleeping. She was sleeping ALL THE TIME. I know they say babies do that, but I don't think Emily ever slept that much! Again, she was completely normal :)

June 16th
* 8 lbs, 15 ozs (WOOO HOO, back to her birthweight)
* Major question was the consistency of her...ahem....poops :) Found out it's not the frequency of the poops, it's the consistency, so prune juice is needed. Again, completely normal :)

June 24th
* First visit to the sick side and she wasn't even really sick, I was just worried about a few things!
* 9 lbs, 14 ozs (MAJOR WOOOOHOOOO). Dr. said that 1 oz. a day is good for weight gain, she had gained 15 ozs. in 8 days!!! He even told me to start spreading the bottles out a bit....even at night....music to my ears :)
* To make a long story short....she is completely normal....again :)

She is truly an answer to prayer! I told God I wanted a healthy baby that slept....AMEN :)

Emily Can Count!

Daddy and Emily have been working VERY hard on counting lately! It all started with her bathtub numbers 1-10 and it has just gone from there! Here is our very talented 2 year old counting to 40....yes 40 (well, minus 11 and 16!) :)
